ABOUT.ME

Jessica Mossner (b. 2000 in Holland, MI) is a dancer and choreographer who seeks to explore the vastness of universal thoughts and emotions within dance performance and play with the audience’s relationship to the performer by creating visually striking and intimate experiences. She began her dance training at the Young People’s Ballet and later the Grand Rapids Ballet School. She continued her studies at Wayne State University, pursuing her BFA in dance, and shifted her focus from classical ballet to contemporary and modern techniques, improvisation, and choreography. While at Wayne, she was cast in works by a diverse faculty as well as various guest artists' work including Adam McGaw, Stephanie Troyak, Bosmat Nossan, Shawn T Bible, and Lawrence Fung. Jessica has branched out into the world of fashion as both a print and runway model and most recently walked the runway for the launch of Detroit-based retail site, Maison Black. Outside of dance and modeling, she is intent on exploring her interest in the world of landscape design and architecture and looks to take her skills from her dance training to facilitate a holistic view of design, space, storytelling, art, and community.
